Dance For The (Big) Screen
An exclusive selection of films from the 2022 DCW festival
We roll out an exclusive set of international dance films that connects cultures, stage dancers old and young, tells stories. Each dance film brings a different discipline to the forefront, be it dance, choreography or cinematography, and some films present all three at once. Not to miss for dance lovers.
Local audiences attend in-theater Los Angeles screenings, with artist conversations, wine and cheese tastings at intermission, and bonus online content for more inspiration.
Including refreshing new work from France, Australia, Canada, Spain, the U.K., Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Kuwait, The Netherlands, and the Czech Republic, the three-day festival promises a balm against the negative effects of the past year, and a reset of the mind.
Through exclusive conversations with filmmakers, producers, dancers, choreographers, and festival directors on the stage of Theatre Raymond Kabbaz (or pre-recorded, depending on travel restrictions), learn how artists worldwide, all impacted by the same menace, have found resilient and creative responses to the global lockdown, all expressed through the media of dance and film.
