In its TRK Debut the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles will perform a lively program highlighting the ensemble’s talent and triumph over intolerance. The special concert in TRK’s intimate setting includes a 40-man ensemble singing iconic dance anthems like “Born this Way” (Lady Gaga), “About Damn Time” (Lizzo), and classic hits like “Vogue” (Madonna), “I’m Coming Out” (Diana Ross), and “Dancing in the Streets” (Martha & The Vandallas), along with showtune classics like “The Battle of Sweeny Todd” and “I Feel Pretty” (by Stephen Sondheim).

GMCLA is one of hundreds of Gay Men’s Choruses nationwide and also the longest-running, first gathering to rehearse in Plummer Park in West Hollywood in 1979. Today the ensemble is conducted by Ernest H. Harrison and mixes high-quality production values and vocal style, with over 180 members in service of the organization’s mission to expose new communities to its message of equality.

“The Chorus has given so much to … the entire region over these 44 years – we have sung for our rights, for lives lost, for the tragedies and the triumphs and for many other civil rights movements as well. It’s quite a family of dedicated people who love to sing, love to be a part of this family, and love to serve the greater LA region”, said GMCLA’s Executive Director and Producer, Lou Spisto.
